Jelly rubber
Also called: jelly toys, PVC
Definition
Soft, translucent, wobbly material, usually PVC softened with plasticizers. Common on very cheap toys.
Why it matters when you shop
Jelly is porous, can leach plasticizers, and often smells. It is the main material to avoid. If a bargain toy feels sticky or smells like a shower curtain, pass.
